Managing Partner Turnaround
Detlev Bremer is Managing Partner Turnaround at Troesser & Co., where he has led the firm’s restructuring and transformation practice from the Hamburg region since October 2024. For more than two decades he has helped German Mittelstand companies through their most decisive moments, and his passion is building a new strategic future for these businesses and the people who work in them.
With a Diploma in Industrial Engineering (Dipl.-Ing. oec.), Detlev began his career in the forklift manufacturing industry at Jungheinrich AG, working in Germany and the United Kingdom. In 2000 he moved into restructuring consultancy with HANSE Management Consulting. In 2004 he stepped into the executive seat as CFO and CRO of Engelmann Automotive, an experience he took back to HANSE when he returned as Project Manager. In 2013 he joined EY in Hamburg, where he spent almost eight years as Executive Director. He then chose to work as an independent restructuring and transformation advisor, which put him directly at the helm of companies in change: as Chief Restructuring Officer at the shipyard Fosen Yard Emden, as COO of uze! Mobility and as COO of the European operations of a US-based loading dock and safety group.
Throughout his career Detlev has steered companies through restructuring, turnaround and transformation, building a strong track record in logistics, automotive, maritime and industrial businesses. His guiding principle is to bring operational, financial and strategic levers together into one integrated solution while carefully balancing the interests of every stakeholder at the table.
Having sat on both sides of the table, as advisor and as executive, Detlev knows what a sound plan requires and what it really takes to put it into practice. That rare combination makes him one of the leaders behind Troesser & Co.’s positioning as a trusted partner to Mittelstand companies that face pivotal moments and are determined to come out of them stronger.
